Green Brock Military Pension

From his deposition to the pension examiner, 1898:

 

"I have been married twice. My first wife's name was Elizabeth Pace... I have four living children by her, all grown. My present wife's name is Rebeca Honeycut. I married her shortly after the war, two or three years, I don't remember the date. We were married in Clay County, KY by Elias Patterson, a preacher, and a record of the marriage can be found in Clay Co."

 

About his first wife:

 

"... died about the close of the war... Died in Owsley county, near Beattysville."

 

Later deposition, dates of birth of children under 16:

 

Martha Brock, born February 7th 1885

Green Brock,         October 1st 1889 and

Clara Brock,         August 21st 1892

 

Also, Examiner states that James Cheek (age 40) is Green's son-in-law, James B. Brock, born 1865, is his nephew, and Carlo Brock is his 2nd or 3rd cousin.

Another examiner states that Solomon B. Saylor (who gives several affadavits) is Green's Brother in law.
