Warrant to Edmund Gross from James Farmer
John Adair Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky To all to whom
these presents shall come greetings. Know ye that by virtue and in
consideration of Kentucky Land office warrant No 7635 there is granted by
the said Commonwealth unto Edmon Gross assignee of James Farmer a certain
tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres by ___ __ bearing date the
fourth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty two lying and
being in the county of Harlan on the Southside of Cumberland river and
bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a beech and buckeye on the side of a
hill about six poles from the river thence running west eighty four poles to
a Burch dogwood on the South bank of river at the mouth of a small drain
thence down with the different meanders of said river South seventy nine
degrees West fifteen poles South fifty six West twenty six poles South
seventy two degrees West eighty two poles South fifty nine degrees West
twenty four poles to two beeches on the South bank of the river thence South
seventeen degrees East sixteen poles to a white oak and beech on the side of
a hill thence East one hundred and eighty two poles to a stake thence South
seventy three poles to the beginning North its appurtenances To have and
to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said
Edmond Gross and his heirs forever In witness where of the said John Adair
Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Kenty hath hereunto set his hand and
caused the seal of the said Commonwealth to be ______ at Frankfort on the
fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
twenty three & of the Commonwealth the ____ ____
