This Indenture made this fourteenth day of July in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty Seven between
James Brock and Elizabeth Brock his wife of Harlan County
and state of Kentucky of the one part and Ephraim Osborn of the
County and State aforesaid of the other part Whereupon that the said
James Brock and Elizabeth Brock his wife for and in consideration
of sixty dollars to them in hand the receipt of which they do
hereby acknowledge have grant bargain sell allocate and
confirm unto the said Ephraim Osborn a certain tract or parcel
land supposed to contain thirty acres be the said more or less
situate in said County lying on the south side of Cumberland River
and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning near the mouth of
Fosters Creek on a beach and lynn on the west side of said creek a
conditional corner made by said Osborn and John C. Howard then with a
conditional south 45 west to a stake no a line of said survey south
55 East to a poplar and beech thence north 31 with another line
of said Brocks former survey crossing said creek 67 poles to a white a
sugar tree and two beeches standing on a hill side on the aforesaid
line from thence South 5 East 72 poles to a poplar and beech
to have and to hold the said tract or parcel or parcel of land with its
appurtenances to the said Ephraim Osborn and his heirs
forever against the claim or claims of him the said James
Brock Sen and Elizabeth Brock his wife and all and every
person or persons whatever claiming by through or under
them but against the claim or claims of no other person
or persons what ever Witness whereof the said James Brock
and Elizabeth Brock wife has hereunto set their hand and
affix there seals the date above written

I John G. Crump Clerk of the County court from the
County aforesaid do certify that this deed from James
Brock & Wife to Ephraim Osborn was this day produced
to me in my office by the Grantee and was proven by
the oath of Elijah Green one of the subscribing witnesses
thereto and the said deed together with the forgoing
certificate is duly recorded in my office Given under
